MSSI, MAC Portal, MAC Portal Comic book part 2

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, X-MEN, and Avenger comics I used to read were a big deal, but not just for me; they were hugely popular. When the Death of Superman comic came out, I bought a limited-edition black cover issue, very carefully read it one time, slipped it back into its plastic protector with cardboard backing, and stored it away with the other rare gems in my collection. I didn't have a bunch of really rare or expensive comics but I did have a couple that I really cherished and tried to take care of. All these years later, to be honest, I couldn't tell you where they are... Probably in a box or trunk at my mom’s house. (Moms are good about holding on to some of that stuff sometimes.)

I'd say most people who had a childhood hobby of collecting things, whether it was baseball cards, Lego sets, coins, stamps, etc. more than likely at some point gave up those hobbies, boxed them up, and lost track of the things their adolescent-selves held so dear. In the years since my collection likely made its home in Mom’s attic, comic books – or at least the stories and characters therein – have made a huge comeback in popular culture. 2019s Avengers: Endgame grossed almost 2.8 billion dollars at the box office worldwide, and currently ranks as the highest-grossing movie of all time. In fact, of the top 10 highest-grossing movies of all time, five are Marvel Universe comic book-based movies. While I know my “comic book style” presentation won’t be leading to any box office record-breaking films, I’m certainly having fun telling the story of the MAC Portal in a new and different way, and I hope you're having fun reading it.
