Modular Security Systems Inc. (MSSI) often sends representatives to sites where Patented MAC Portals are in operation or have been in use for some period of time. Visiting sites all around the United States
MSSI has the opportunity to get photo’s and feedback from customers with regards to
MAC Portals and there use in the field. The picture above was taken at an American Electric Power Plant in Ohio where it has been in operation for over 5 years. Although the paint may be fading the functionality of this
MAC-4 that was sold to AEP is still going strong. Used during outages, turnarounds, and projects this MAC Portal has helped the site manage access control, security, and time keeping for payroll for thousands of employees at the site.

This
MAC-2 is currently located in Baytown Texas at the Oneok Chemicals plant. It has been integrated by Acree Daily to meet the sites specified access control needs. Historically MAC Portals like these have been built using
turnstiles and access control systems provided by a number of manufacturers and integrators in the U.S. and Canada. Taking site specific needs of customers into consideration MSSI has used turnstiles offered by
Boon Edam,
Alvarado, and
Controlled Access Turnstiles as well as access control hardware and software like
Intelliwave Technologies,
Track Software, and
Kantech. By partnering with different high security
turnstile vendors and
access control companies, MSSI is able to stay competitive and offer a wider range of products to meet the ever changing needs of their customers.
“The ability to meet customer’s site specific
needs by making them part of the design process is what, I feel, sets us apart from the competition”, added Mr. Johnson. “By taking their specifications in mind, implementing them into the design process we give the customer a feeling of ownership in the product, and make the entire sales process as simple as possible from design to installation."
