Modular Security Systems Inc. (MSSI) has reported in the past that MAC Portals were being delivered to Ground Zero in New York City. In support of the Freedom Tower Construction project, two MAC-3 units (MAC Portals with three turnstiles) and six MAC-1 units (MAC Portals with one turnstile) have been ordered by the site to be tied into the fenceline perimeter. In an effort to maintain security and track employees time-keeping records these MAC Portals have been integrated with access control software, card readers, and GE Iris Scanning detection devices. Above and below are pictures of some of the Patented MAC Portals located at the site.
Following the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11 MSSI was given permission to post these images of the MAC Portals currently on site. As you can see from the pictures these Patented MAC Portals have been tied into the fenceline of the site and are being used by workers entering the area. In addition to the standard MAC Portal design these units were also accompanied by custom awnings that the site requested prior to shipping. With full height, high security turnstiles modified into a portable, steel shipping container these MAC Portals are sure to maintain access control for the site throughout the entire project.
