On the 4th Thursday of every month the Community Advisory Panel (CAP) for the Lawrence Co. Ohio, Boyd Co. and Greenup Co. Kentucky meet. At each meeting representatives from Dupont, Sunoco, and Sun Coke visit with members of the community to discuss safety and environmental issues at their plants. Meetings held by the CAP take place at the Knights of Columbus in Ironton, Ohio where any and all members of the community are invited to attend, enjoy dinner, and discuss topics pertaining to safety and environmental issues in the Tri-State area.
This months meeting was hosted by Modular Security Systems Inc. and DropBox Inc. at the manufacturing facility in Worthington, KY. After dinner was served and all of the CAP members had an opportunity to hear safety/environmental reports from each of the plants. Then a presentation on MSSI and DropBox Inc. was given in combination with a tour of the 50,000 square foot manufacturing facility. A number of positive comments were made regarding the container modification operation in Worthington and CAP members were more than pleased to find out that 50 of the areas skilled craftsmen were employed by MSSI and DropBox. It was noted by members of the CAP that from welders, carpenters, electricians, and plumbers to sales and marketing professionals, a wide array of talent can be found at MSSI and DropBox Inc.
