Modular Security Systems Inc. (MSSI) is proud to be part of a two hundred million dollar makeover of the second tallest building in Washington DC. The 1899 post office tower on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington is soon to be a luxury hotel renovated and operated by the Trump Organization. Set to open in 2016 the luxury hotel once complete will include 271 rooms, a 13,000 square-foot ballroom, 36,000 square feet of meeting space as well as two presidential suites.
At one point the building was actually considered for demolition but in 1970 the Don't Tear It Down organization gave rise to a movement meant to preserve the historic landmark. Successful in their efforts the Don't Tear It Down group was able to save the building but what to do with the structure had been a topic of heated debate ever since. With the aquissition of the historic landmark by the Trump Organization a face lift will be given to the interior and the building will surely stand for decades to come.
Currently under renovation and construction by major construction contractor Lend Lease perimeter security was needed to secure the site. Having worked with MSSI and the Patented MAC Portal on other projects around the country it was a no-brainer for the security professionals and project managers at Lend Lease to contact MSSI for turnstile and access control solutions. As with many commercial construction projects surrounding the jobsite with a perimeter fence and Patented MAC Portals from MSSI was action item number one.
The Patented Modular Access Control (MAC) Portal from Modular Security Systems Inc. being portable and easy to install made it the perfect perimeter security solution for this project. Complete with full height, high security turnstiles, access control technology, and climate controlled guard offices where needed the Patented MAC Portal is an excellent addition to any job site security solution.
