Turnstiles have been used to control the entry and exit from one area to another for a very long time. Originally used for livestock a rachet mechanism that allowed the "stile" to turn in only one direction was used to keep sheep and other animals securely located in a specific area without allowing them to pass into others. The use of turnstiles today has found it's way to a wide variety of applications. Still used for livestock on farms and auctions the use of turnstiles can now be found anywhere from subways, amusement parks, sports arenas, shopping centers, and even industrial and commercial construction sites via the Patented Modular Access Control (MAC) Portal. Combining the portability of ISO shipping containers modified with both full height and half height or "waist high" turnstiles MSSI has been able to create a turn-key security and access control solution that can be delivered and put into use within hours of delivery.
By utilizing the turnstile expertise of manufacturers like Boon Edam, Alvarado, and other turnstile partners MSSI has been able to create a line of customizable, portable security solutions with and without climate controlled guard offices. More often than not the turnstiles used in patented MAC Portals are full height turnstiles but MSSI has also created MAC Portals with half height turnstiles for commercial use and low security sites. Working with our customers to design the portable security solution they need to get the job done MSSI has been flexible in creating a plethora of turnstile products.
