Every year Modular Security Systems Inc. spends a good bit of time and money on developing a trade show strategy that will benefit not only MSSI but the perimeter security industry as a whole. Each year a group of trade shows pertaining to security, power generation, and other key industries are selected for either exhibition or attendance purposes by MSSI staff. At these shows MSSI will have the opportunity to display it's product offerings, visit with potential customers and industry leaders. FenceTech 2012 in Miami, Fl is the first trade show of 2012 for MSSI and it just started today. FenceTech is an annually held show hosted by the American Fence Association.
Much like previous trades shows MSSI has put together an impressive booth filled with visual images, videos, and handouts pertaining to the Patented Modular Access Control (MAC) Portal, the Vehicle Access Control (VAC) Portal, and the V-Series MAC Portal. The perimeter security solutions displayed by MSSI at these shows encompass a complete set of site solutions that include turnstiles, guard house, vehicle barrier arms, and access control technology. Any security professional will tell you that perimeter barriers are the first step in securing any facility. As the outermost protective barrier of a security system, perimeter barriers act as the first line of defense with regards to site security. The primary function of perimeter barriers is to prevent unauthorized personel and materials from entering a secured location. Perimeter barriers can be created using fences and gates. Although fences provide some benefits they can often be broken through fairly quickly. For this very reason many high security sites opt to have additional guard houses and full height, high security turnstiles and access control technology like the Patented MAC Portal for personnel to enter the site.
MSSI has worked with a number of industrial contractors, industrial facilities, and security profesionals over the years to design and build perimeter security solutions like the Patented MAC Portal and V-Series MAC Portal. By utilizing new ISO shipping containers the movable shell of the MAC Portal comes in standard sizes with fork pockets and corner casting pre-installed. The standardization of the these shipping containers make them the perfect building block for a portable perimeter barrier. Once the full height turnstiles and access control technology is added the MAC Portal is ready to be dropped into a fenceline and utilized as a personel entry point in any perimeter barrier system.

Modular Security Systems Inc. is the one stop shop for perimeter security companies in need of a customizable, portable access control guard house with turnstiles. Pictured above is a custom MAC-6 (MAC Portal with six turnstiles) that was just recently put in production. This custom MAC Portal will have six full height, high security turnstiles and an ADA gate as per the customers site specific requirements. Having installed ADA gates in a number of Custom MAC Portals for customers in the U.S. and abroad MSSI is excited to have the opportunity to build this unit for South Texas Nuclear in Bay City, Texas. Once onsite the unit will be dropped in a fenceline, hooked up to power, and utilized in managing perimeter security at the site for projects, outages, and turnarounds.
Pictured above and to the left is what a typical ADA gate installation in a MAC Portal looks like for customers interested in this option. This particular ADA gate was installed in the Custom MAC-3 shown above on the right and was just recently shipped to a nuclear customer in Idaho. Like all of our containerized, portable solutions the MAC Portal is a highly customizable access control solutions. With the ability to install both half-height and full height turnstiles, as well as, any customer specifed access control technology the options for your MAC Portal are almost unlimited.

With 5 days of the new year under our collective belt MSSI is already off to a fantastic start in 2012. Having received purchase orders for MAC Portals from customers in Louisiana, Texas, Idaho, and North Dakota the manufacturing floor is filling up fast. Using customer specified Boon Edam and Alvarado turnstiles which have already arrived at the manufacturing facility in Worthington, Ky most of the shipping containers have already been cut per their design drawings. The portability of the MAC Portal with guard offices, full height turnstiles, and access control technology makes it the perfect perimeter security solution for customers in the construction, power generation, refining, and chemical industries.
Most of the recently ordered MAC Portals will be standard builds but a few will have custom features like the ADA gate (shown above on the left) that has already been installed in this custom MAC-4 (MAC Portal with four full height turnstiles). Another major benefit for our customers is the portable office space provided within the MAC Portal design. The guard office here (shown above on the right) is fully insulated and has been pre-installed with access control technology specific to the customer and their site.

2011 has been another record year for Modular Security Systems Inc. and the Patented Modular Access Control (MAC) Portal. With over sixty MAC Portals sold in 2011 alone the last 12 months has seen the highest total number of MAC Portal sells than any previous year in the company's history. In addition to MAC Portals in 2011 MSSI also developed a new product called the Vehicle Access Control (VAC) Portal. These VAC Portals are an all-in-one portable guard house with vehicle barrier arms mounted to a forklift ready steel base. Working with customers at a number of power plants, chemical facilities, refineries, and major construction sites including the Freedom Tower construction project at Ground Zero and the JFK Airport in New York City MSSI is proud to display some pictures of builds from 2011, here in our Turnstile Blog. Modular Security Systems Inc. has reported here in our Turnstile Blog on a number of major construction sites where the patented Modular Access Control (MAC) Portal has been put in use. The portability, functionality, and ruggedness of MAC Portals make them the perfect solution for access control, time-keeping, and perimeter security at a large number of projects around the U.S. This week we are proud to display some images of this MAC-4 (MAC Portal with 4 full height turnstiles) that is located in the fence line of a major project at the JFK Airport in New York City, New York.
When AECOM was awarded the $11 million contract at the JFK Airport to build a new terminal for Delta Airlines (Read More about the Project Here) perimeter security was one of their first concerns. Having heard about the MAC Portal from industry colleagues on other projects around the U.S. AECOM procurement staffers knew exactly who to call for a perimeter solution with full height turnstiles and access control technology. Through the use of this MAC-4 and the MAC-1 (pictured above in the background) the construction area has been secured and employees have a place to clock in and out for the day.
