Modular Security Systems, Inc. (MSSI) of Ironton, Ohio has announced that it has recently signed Boon Edam Inc. of Lillington, NC, a subsidiary of Royal Boon Edam Group Holding B.V., as a certified, licensed distributor of its MAC (Modular Access Control) modular, self contained turnstile unit. In 2004, Modular Security Systems, Inc. applied for a patent with the US Patent and Trademark Office, in 2008 that patent was allowed by the US Patent and Trade Mark Office. This patent is for MSSI's unique idea of installing full height turnstiles into a shipping container (connex box) to make a mobile, modular, self contained access control portal that is manufactured at the MSSI plant, integrated with any type of software and access control technology specified by a customer and then shipped anywhere in the world that a customer has a sight that needs to be secured. These modular, mobile, self contained access control portals have seen huge success on oil refinery projects, power plant upgrade projects as well as military bases in the US and Middle East. Due to their portability these MAC portals are available for immediate deployment anywhere in the world where a construction site, military base camp or other facility's perimeter needs to be secured and have pedestrian access controlled.
